Our Commitment: We believe in transparency and giving you control over your personal data. We collect only what we need to provide our services and never sell your personal information.

1.3 Information from Third-Party Services

If you choose to sign in using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In:

Apple Sign-In: We receive your name (if provided), email address (or Apple's private relay email), and a unique identifier
Google Sign-In: We receive your name, email address, and profile picture (if available)

We do not receive or store your passwords from these services.

3. AI Processing and Data Usage

AI Transparency: Your recipe data is processed by artificial intelligence systems to generate ingredient substitutions. Here's what you should know:

Recipe text, ingredients, and uploaded photos (including photos of recipe pages and photos of prepared food) are sent to AI services for processing
AI processing occurs on secure third-party servers (currently Anthropic/Claude)
Photos of prepared food are analyzed only to identify the dish and infer a recipe; we do not perform face recognition or identify people in your photos
We do not use your specific recipes or photos to train AI models
AI providers may retain data temporarily for service operation and abuse prevention
Nutritional estimates are AI-generated and may not be precise

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 We Do NOT Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

We share data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our App:

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Google Cloud/Firebase, primarily located in the United States. By using Wellyum, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States.

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

Secure authentication protocols
Regular security audits and updates
Access controls limiting employee access to personal data
Secure password hashing (passwords are never stored in plain text)

5.3 Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. After account deletion:

Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days
Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely

When you import recipes from external websites, you may access third-party content. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Our mobile app does not use traditional browser cookies. However, we may use:

Local storage for app preferences and offline functionality
Device identifiers for analytics and crash reporting
Authentication tokens for secure login sessions

We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, as there is no industry standard for mobile apps. However, you can control data collection through your device settings.
